Pembroke Castle – Hall of Names Success!

As a jewel in the crown of Wales’s historic past, Pembroke Castle is a fabulous historic attraction. They were looking at new ways to generate revenue for the charitable trust. In May, Retail Manager Susan Bulkeley decided that surname histories from Hall of Names could be just the thing. Since then, sales have gone from strength to strength.

“We have been utterly astonished at how well the coats of arms and surname histories have been received – customers just love them! We are very pleased to have the right person working on Hall of Names. She is a real ‘people person’ who loves talking to the visitors about their surnames. This certainly makes all the difference”.

Our continental tourists are always happy when we find their names too and visitors from further afield, such as New Zealand and Australia. Furthermore, visitors often take the histories home with them as a souvenir.

If you are considering becoming a Hall of Names retailer, call Wendy Spencer or Jo Laver today, to find out more and discover just how easy it is. Tel: 01984 632120.

Find out if we have the coat of arms and surname meaning for your own name.
