Gloucester Quays Victorian Christmas Market

 

The Holiday season is well on its way and Gloucester Quays Victorian Christmas Market is preparing to take visitors back in time to a Dickensian era! It will be hosting its annual Victorian Christmas shopping spectacular and open-air ice rink, which is certainly an event not to be missed! The festivities start on Thursday 14 November and run until 24 November. Without a doubt, it will be a hit with visitors. The markets will showcase the finest artisan goods plus some of the very best independent businesses. For example, there are over 150 stalls on offer, including everything to raise the Christmas cheer.

 

 

 

 

In addition, look out for delicious roasted chestnuts and award winning gins. Or alternatively handcrafted candles and mulled wine. We are excited to be showcasing Hall of Names at this lovely event. Visitors will be able to view the history of their surname on screen, before it is printed to order on a beautiful parchment scroll. An ideal gift to take away form this lovely day out!

 

 

 

 

What will be at the Victorian Christmas Market?

 

Transporting you back in time, the markets will be brought to life with Victorian street performers, live blacksmith demonstrations and stall holders who will be dressed in Victorian attire. Paired with the stunning backdrop of Gloucester Quays and the historic docks, this makes for the perfect trip out. The large Open-Air Ice Rink taking over Orchard Square is the perfect spot for a little fun, encapsulating the romance of winter. It is over 450m2, and skaters (novice or experienced) will be able to take to the ice from Thursday 14 November until 5 January. And with the cosy bar right next to the rink, visitors be able to ‘warm their cockles’ with a nice glass of mulled wine whilst watching friends and family on the ice.

 

 

 

How to purchase ice rink tickets

 

Tickets start from £7.40 for children and £9.80 for adults. There are also family passes available at £31 and discounted concessions. The rink will be open every day from the 14 Nov – 5 Jan excluding Christmas Day. Sessions are available from 12:35 – 21:00 Monday – Friday and 09:50 – 21:00 on Saturdays and 09:50 – 19:00 on Sundays.
